What motivates Eglah to set up this?
I have always had a passion for helping the needy children in the society because of my own story. My story will make you say a lot of 'me too' and some more 'I get you' .
Inspired by my own story, I am the founder of Lasso community Based Organization
The Word “ LASSO ” stands for ' Light a School with Solar'.
Lasso is a newly-established Community Based Organization (CBO) and a non-profit entity founded to contribute toward improving the quality of life of neglected and underserved communities in Kenya by breaking them free from the cycle of marginalization and poverty
We believe in transforming poverty to hope and obstacles into opportunities.
Our main initiative is in providing sustainable energy, affordable water and sanitation for all.
LASSO CBO is based in Baringo County, Kenya.

What is the best way to help, inspire and motivate the next generation at the same time save the environment?
Was the question I asked myself...
I had all the answers, BUT, I couldn't do it by myself!
So I thought of people like you, the companies that still have CSR!
CSR- Corporate Social Responsibility is a management concept whereby companies integrate social and environmental concerns in their business operations by contributing in activism, or charitable nature by engaging in or supporting volunteering or ethically-oriented practices.
What's the concept?
We have so many schools that would benefit from this. Although we want to help as much as we wish, on this project, we want it to be very impactful to the school as well as the community.
school:
1) Each school is given an opportunity to apply by giving us a good reason why they deserve and how they will use the solar to impact the lives of the students.
2) They have to accept our terms and conditions; they have to teach the entire school about green energy, solar and sustainability before the installation.
3) They have to protect and maintain the solar energy
Community Boreholes:
After my field work research with Lasso team(Jan 2022), we found out the biggest problem that affects the schools and the community is scarcity/lack of water.
Since we are focused on solar, we thought of helping communities revive dormant or replace diesel powered boreholes , with Solar water pumps.
LASSO: The 1st Pilot.
I am very thrilled and excited to announce that our first pilot is under way.
One community borehole called Buiwon BH and Perkerra high school ,both based in Marigat,Kenya.
